Dear Editor – I am writing this letter due to my concerns over poor governance, corruption and the non-upholding of basic human rights in our country.
The government has an obligation to ensure good governance in its leadership of the country.
It also has an obligation to ensure national security. In terms of national security, the government must have in place advanced security surveillance to ensure the safety of Solomon Islanders throughout the nation.
There are a lot of criminality on our social media nowadays. Political corruption, rape cases and bribery have become norms in our country and this is very sad.
Furthermore, the government must ensure a conducive economic environment that will attract major investments, which in turn will provide greater employment opportunities for Solomon Islanders and also stimulate economic growth for a prosperous Solomon Islands.
Leaders must come up with innovative policies for the betterment of all Solomon Islanders.
Solomon Islands currently faces a lot of problems as people are struggling to make ends meet and the government needs to take decisive actions to address these challenges.
