Dear Editor – Constituents in West Guadalcanal were concerned very much over prolonged-delay of the applied project since 2024 -2026 roll out project.
We understand that careful planning process is a result of the CDF Act 2023 that the constituency office must adherent to the procurement Guidelines and this is a normal process for every public fund to ensure proper governance and community project alignment is achieved.
Despite this, the constituency office supposed not to put an excuse for prolonging the delay of the projects to deliver to it’s recipients on this matter.
Poor governance and mismanagement of resources is only the root cause of the matter.
The constituent call on the constituency office to come out on air or other media platform to inform it’s constituents regarding clear information as a green light to it’s people on current update of the project status either they are already in the pipeline or not.
In addition CDP (Constituency Development Plan) is a national program of the SIG and Administered by the MRD and it’s goal is to improve social and economic livelihood of all Solomon Islanders. Through its targeted projects you are to made sure applied project must directly reflect the needs of the applicants and the Constituency Development Plan.
Finally I would like to reassure the secretariat office not to give huge gap of communication to it’s constituents.
This is important to give people adequate information regarding the Constituency Development commitment and achievement for equitable and positive impactful community development. largely diverted to social and cultural support due to frequent community requests.
