SOLOMON Islands total number of COVID-19 positive cases has reached 4827 as of midday yesterday (Monday 14th February).
Minister of the Ministry of Health and Medical Services Dr Culwick Togamana in his daily COVID-19 update last night said 202 new cases have been reported from midday Sunday to midday yesterday.
Dr Togamana said of the 202 new cases – 57 were detected in Honiara and the rest from the provinces.
He said 3810 positive cases are recorded in Honiara alone which accounts for 79 per cent of the country’s total number of positive cases to date.
He said Malaita Province accounts for 10.10 per cent of the country’s total number of positive cases.
For the other provinces the total number of COVID-19 cases registered from midday yesterday are; Guadalcanal Province 143, Western Province 171, Choiseul Province 75, Isabel Province 57 and Makira Ulawa Province two.
Dr Togamana said the two in Makira Ulawa Province have since recovered from COVID-19 with negative results which mean that Makira Ulawa Province has retained its COVID-19 free status.
No COVID-19 cases have been reported in Temotu and Rennell Bellona Provinces.
Dr Togamana said three new deaths were recorded in the country from yesterday bringing the country’s total deaths to 61.
