An officer within the customs division says revelation by the former Forest Minister Bodo Dettke alleging that logging companies bribed their way out from the system by incurring a SBD$500 million revenue loss is totally misleading.
The officer who wants anonymity said, the mismatch in records from the Ministry of Forests and Customs division was never brought to the understanding of the respective authorities, since some companies have different cases when it comes before the customs.
He said, they have to put together all their records right to better explain the records kept by the Ministry of Forests.
He added some of these cases went before the court, thus customs will not deal with it until court rules over those cases.
