Honiara City Council (HCC) will officially open the multi- million dollar dental clinic at the Mataniko river side, Chinatown, next week.
HCC Clerk Charles Kelly confirmed to this paper yesterday. The exact day of the opening was not revealed.
The complex has now been completed and is ready to be used.
He said the council had met and approved that the opening must be done before the end of this month to provide services to the people as soon as possible.
“The council wants to see and make sure a better health service is provided and delivered to the people in the city.
“We are now working to sort out few things out that needs to be done before next week.”
He said building is fully completed and ready for its official opening.
Construction of the complex started on July last year at a cost of $3 million dollars with support coming from the Ministry of Health and other partners.
It is the first ever major dental clinic to be owned by the Honiara City Council to service the city.
In addition, the Honiara City Clerk on behalf of the management and the department, acknowledged all the outgoing councilors and the city mayor for their hard work and the initiative to ensure the project is completed.
