THE four new diplomats to lead the Heads of Mission abroad should be known by end of this month.
The government was said to have already earmarked envoys for missions in Canberra (Australia), Taipei (Taiwan), Geneva (Switzerland) and New York (United States of America).
Acting permanent secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Joseph Maahanua said the process is still progressing but anticipating everything should be finalise by end of this month.
Maahanua said the names have been identified but cannot be revealed until every process is complete.
“We have identified qualified and capable candidate to lead our heads of mission,” he said.
Solomon Star understands the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee had also made a recommendation for the appointments of the Heads of Missions.
Currently, Acting High Commissioner, Fiona Indu is looking after the Canberra mission.
While a Chargd De Affairs, Gladys Luahiti looks after the Taiwan embassy.
Moses Mose used to look after the office in Geneva before he left for Brussels in Belgium.
Barrat Saleto is currently looking after the office in Geneva.
In New York, there will be a replacement for Collin Beck, who had spent 12 years there and decided to return home.
