TWO former members of Parliament have been tipped as candidates of Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) for the Speaker’s job.
They are resigned Speaker of Parliament, Sir Allen Kemakeza and former MP for Ulawa Ugi, James Tora.
A reliable source confirmed to the Solomon Star yesterday that these two names are floating in the camp for the Speaker’s post.
The election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker is set down for early next week.
A reliable source confirmed Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare had already advised the Governor General Sir Frank Kabui of the date, after taking his oath yesterday.
Sir Frank is expected to make the proclamation of the meeting soon after the notice is gazetted.
Both Sir Allan and Mr Tora have contested the recent elections and lost their seats, but are strong supporters of DCC camp.
