THE case of involving the more than $1.2 million obtained through the sale of fake gold bars is still before the Honiara Magistrates’ Court.
No date has been fixed as of yet for the full trial after voir dire was completed on the case of one of the accused, Jeffery Iro early this year.
The case is now awaiting a trial date.
Iro appeared yesterday for the mention of his case where it was further adjourned to July 18, this year to be heard before Principal Magistrate Jim Seuika.
He is facing one count of personation while his co-accused Stephen Ariki who is currently under a warrant of arrest is facing a false pretence charge.
Police said the two men allegedly sold fake gold bars to a Chinese businessman and his local partner since October 11, 2011 until June last year.
They have allegedly obtained more than $1.2 million for the sale of those fake gold bars.
