Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast earlier on announced in a press conference that it is likely the first group of police officers will be deployed by the end of this month under the United Nations Mission.
“It is possible the first group of officers will be deployed by the end of this month.
“The first contingent will include three officers.”
Mr Prendergast said two other officers still have technical issues around their clearance.
“Further announcement will be made nearer to the deployment date about that deployment and where that deployment will made once they have all the information.
“There are works being done to ensure that the officers are properly prepared and the arrangements are made.
“It’s a great day for the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) that our officers are being considered on this type of deployment,” he said.
He added, it is good to see that we now going back on assisting other countries that needs assistance the way we received assistance.
