More than 200 fathers from Savo, Russell, Visale, and sub-parishes including Hulavu and Tangarare Parish have successfully concluded a four-day deanery celebration in honour of St. Joseph the Worker at Tangarare Parish on Thursday.
The annual gathering, held from March 16 to March 19, brought together fathers from across the deanery in a spirit of unity, reflection, and faith.
The celebration highlighted the important role of fathers within the Church and family life, inspired by the example of St. Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus Christ and husband of the Virgin Mary.

This year’s celebration was held under the theme “Guardian of the Eucharist,” emphasizing the spiritual responsibility of fathers to guide and protect their families in faith.
The Holy Eucharist Mass, which marked the conclusion of the event, was led by Tangarare Parish Priest, Fr. Paul Cheka.
In his homily, he encouraged fathers to remain strong in their faith and committed to their roles as leaders and protectors within their homes and communities.

The four-day program included prayer sessions, fellowship, and spiritual teachings aimed at strengthening the bond among participants.
Following the Holy Mass, the celebration continued with speeches, a shared feast, and entertainment, bringing the event to a joyful close.
Participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to gather, reflect, and renew their commitment to family and faith, with many describing the event as both spiritually uplifting and socially enriching.
