OFC: The draw for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ Oceania Qualifiers will take place on Friday 15th August at 3:00pm NZT and will be streamed live on the OFC YouTube channel (@ofcfootball) and the OFC website (oceaniafootball.com)
Hosted by Storm Purvis, the event will feature a special message from FIFA Chief Women’s Football Officer Sarai Bareman. Former internationals Lavinia Taga(Vanuatu), Katie Duncan (New Zealand) and Lavenia Yalovi (Fiji) will be the pot pickers.
OFC Executive Committee member, FIFA Council Member and New Zealand Football President Dr Johanna Wood will also be in attendance and will join Storm for a post-draw interview.
Oceania has one direct qualification spot for the 10th edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, to be held in Brazil from 24 June to 25 July 2027.
The winner of next April’s final will qualify directly for the World Cup while the runner-up will advance to the FIFA Intercontinental playoff tournament for another chance to secure a place.
Teams in the draw pots: Fiji, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and the winner of the Round One Qualifiers in the Cook Islands later this year (American Samoa, Cook Islands, Tahiti, Tonga).
Format:
The draw will create two groups of four for Round Two, to be played during the FIFA Women’s International Window from 24 February to 7 March 2026.
Teams play each opponent once; the top two in each group advance to Round Three in New Zealand (7–18 April 2026).
The four Round Three teams will contest two single-match semi-finals, with the winners meeting in a one-match final to decide Oceania’s direct qualifier for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ in Brazil.
