Solomon Islands claim Bronze in Team Mixed Event at the recent Oceania Taekwondo Championships which held from 28 to 29 March in Australia.
Despite missing out from individual medals Solomon Islands managed to bronze medal for team mix event.
The Solomon Islands has secured a bronze medal in the team mixed event at the Oceania Taekwondo Championships, marking a significant achievement despite falling short in individual categories.
This was confirmed by Taekwondo team Solomon Islands head coach Junior Maetia on Monday after his team received the award presented by Oceania Taekwondo union President and World Taekwondo President Dr Chungwon Choue.
After a challenging run in the individual divisions where athletes were unable to reach the podium, the national team regrouped to deliver a strong performance in the mixed team event.
Their effort and coordination paid off, earning the country a place among the top three.
The bronze medal result highlights the team’s resilience and ability to compete at a regional level, demonstrating progress in the sport for Solomon Islands.
Officials and supporters have welcomed the achievement, noting it as an encouraging sign for the future development of taekwondo in the country.
