SUVA, ( FIJI TIMES) -The two Fiji netball sides won their matches last night in the International Series at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
The Digicel Fiji side beat Papua New Guinea 68-37 while the Punjas Fiji side won 61-47 over Singapore.
National coach Kate Carpenter had a chance to look at the extended squad before the World Netball Championship.
“We were trying to achieve some of the objectives and one was playing with intensity and so I think we did today (yesterday) as we played well with different players and different combinations,” Carpenter said.
“This game also gave an opportunity to the girls who haven’t played in the previous matches.
“From now obliviously we are going into conditioning blocks as the girls stayed in the camp for training and a tough conditioning block coming up pushing further ahead for the preparation including some gym-based and field -based training.”
Carpenter said the girls had some time to recover before the trials on May 9.
