THE Super League 2025 season debutants Ghupo Football Club (FC) have registered their first win of the season when they outclassed Laugu United on Saturday at the iconic Lawson Tama stadium.
Ghupo earned their first three points of the 2025 S-League season with a dramatic 2-1 comeback win over Laugu United on Saturday.
The match began with high intensity as both teams pushed forward in search of an early breakthrough.
Despite the lively start, neither side was able to find the net, and the first half ended goalless.
In the second half both teams regrouped with renewed strength as they tried to break the deadlock until Laugu United broke the deadlock early in the second half when Leslie Kivolyn struck in the 57th minute, giving the men in black and white a deserved lead. However, their advantage was short-lived.
Just two minutes later, Ghupo was awarded a penalty, which Jeff Teika calmly converted to level the scores. Teika, enjoying a stellar debut season, continued to impress with his composure from the spot.
In the third minute of added time, Teika struck again, netting the winner and sealing a historic first S-League victory for Ghupo FC.
Ghupo FC head coach William Tino after the match he said he is happy with the boys for claiming their first 3 points after their first two disastrous defeats.
“I am happy with the boys for their hard work and effort in the match. We worked so hard after our first two disastrous matches and we rightly deserved this win today. Our hard work paid off”, Tino said.
“Hats off to my assistant coach G. Pongi and the boys for the execution of the game plan.
“We will go back recover and work more on the areas need to improve before our next match next week”.
Meanwhile, Ghupo FC with the win over Laugu gives them the valuable 3 points to settles on the 8th spot on the standing table with 3 points.
