A NATIONAL long-line fisheries management workshop for Long-line Fishery Operators and stakeholders will commences in Honiara on Tuesday.
The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources (MFMR) will be hosting the two-day workshop from Tuesday 13th to Wednesday 14th September at the Heritage Park Hotel.
According to the MFMR, the workshop aimed to provide an opportunity for all the stakeholders in the Long-line Fishery to meet and discuss the MFMR plan to implement the LL Vessel Day Scheme (VDS) in 2017.
“Other important issues on the agenda for discussion include the E-reporting and E-monitoring on the long-line fleets, which are proposed to commence in 2017 as well.”
The Solomon Star understood, all fisheries operators and stakeholders were expected to attend this workshop.
