Fiu bridge in Central Kwarae, Malaita province is posing a risk to most vehicles and travelling public.
The recent Cyclone Racquel had caused the river to flood which resulted in the western end of the bridge being eaten away.
A visit to the site early this week most of the vehicles traveling between the Northern part of the island and Auki to be careful when crossing the bridge.
This had raised fear and concern from farmers, truck owners and passengers, who often travelling to Auki town.
A concern farmer and passenger Severino Silimae said, bridge is becoming dangerous for the public and something must be done to get it fixed.
“The provincial government needs to look at this problem to ensure that all infrastructure in the province are safe and reliable for the people to use.”
Attempts to get comments from the responsible authorities were unsuccessful on Tuesday.
