The Floorball Federation Solomon Islands (FFSI) has appealed to all business houses and companies for support ahead of the Men’s World Floorball Championship Asia Oceania Floorball Confederation (AOFC) Qualification.
The qualifier will be held in Wellington, New Zealand, from 13th–18th January 2026.
The Solomon Islands is one of ten countries from the AOFC that will compete for four qualifying spots at the World Floorball Championship (WFC), scheduled to take place in Finland in December 2026.
Preparations are already underway, and a statement released by FFSI highlighted that the men’s national team is aiming to secure one of the four spots and qualify for the world stage for the first time.
“To make this happen, the team really needs support from local businesses or companies in the Solomon Islands. Sponsorship is key to help pay for travel and training equipments. “
Supporting the team also helps show the talent and spirit of the Solomon Islands to the world,” the statement reads.
“When local companies sponsor the team, they help celebrate hard work and national pride. Sponsors will get good exposure during an international event and connect with young people and families in the country. They will also be part of a historic moment for sports in the Solomon Islands.”
The 10 countries set to compete for a spot at next year’s WFC are China, New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and the Solomon Islands.
