A bail application is likely to be made for a young woman facing a fraud case involving more than $100, 000 belonging to the Heritage Park hotel.
Natalie Keni appeared in court on Wednesday and has been further remanded in custody.
She was facing a charge of uttering on which police alleged she uttered some documents involving more than $100, 000 from the Heritage Park hotel.
A lawyer from the Public Solicitor’s Office Daniel Kwalai said on the last occasion, Sarah Karani who represented the accused had indicated making a bail application.
He said after a discussion between both counsels, prosecution have indicated it will not objected to the bail application once investigation is completed.
He added that on the last occasion, the defence was told that there were some statements yet to be obtained.
When asked on the status of investigation, Public Prosecutor Ishmael Kekou said he could not assist the court on that given that he appeared on brief instructions for his colleague.
His colleague Sirepu Ramosaea is currently attending a workshop therefore could not attend yesterday’s mention.
Mr Kekou told the court that prosecution can update court on the next hearing in relation to the status of investigation.
He said prosecution can also respond to the bail application in the event the defence counsel submits their application on the next date.
