FORMER provincial police commander of Guadalcanal Daniel Hunikera will stand trial in September in relation to the traffic offences against him.
Principal Magistrate Augustine Aulanga has set down September 7 for the start of the trial.
The hearing will run for three days.
The trial date was fixed following the pre-trial conference yesterday.
Hunikera had earlier pleaded not guilty to charges of driving or being in charge when under the influence of drinks or drugs and another of careless & inconsiderate driving.
These were in relation to an incident at Alligator Creek in east Honiara on 14 February 2015.
He allegedly crashed the government vehicle during an early morning ride.
It was alleged he was drinking at that time.
The expensive government vehicle was badly damaged when it veered off the road and crashed into the nearby bush.
That vehicle was allocated to and garaged by Hunikera.
