THE PEOPLE’S forum held last Thursday will finalize its resolutions this morning at the Korean Restaurant.
Speaking on behalf of the Forum Solomon Islands International (FSII), the Vice President Ishmael Nori said they are inviting all participants in last week’s forum and other interested citizens to attend the Resolution Committee’s presentation on the forum outcomes.
“We kindly invite participants of last Thursday’s people’s forum to attend this session to see the draft resolutions, finalize and pass them”, Nori said in a statement yesterday.
The people’s forum hosted by FSII last Thursday attracted a lot of stakeholders and concern citizens.
A total of 19 stakeholders, former MPs, retired public servants and ordinary concern citizens attended the people’s forum.
In a statement last week, FSII CEO Benjamin Afuga said the forum aims to bring together stakeholders and gauge their opinions about the strings of government controversial decisions.
He said the forum is an opportunity to listen to them and take their views for appropriate actions.
“The People’s Forum will provide an opportunity for concern stakeholders to express their views and moreover explicate how the controversial decisions directly affect them and the organizations and citizens they represent”, Afuga added.
Meanwhile the forum’s Vice President and moderator of the people’s forum Ishmael Nori said last week’s forum was a success.
“Stakeholder representatives openly expressed their views about the current government’s actions, particularly the strings of controversial decisions and recommended many solutions.
“The aims and objectives of the forum have been met and participants want more forums to be organized by FSII”, he said.
Nori confirmed that the forum was professionally controlled and all presentations were done under the forum’s theme: “Responsible Citizens for Responsible Government”.
The meeting this morning at the Korean Restaurant will start at 10:00am.
