The Panamex Group, through its local distributor George Wu Company, has made a generous donation to the Pink October Cancer Foundation on Tuesday 11th November2025, supporting the ongoing efforts of the National Referral Hospital (NRH) in raising awareness and providing care for cancer patients.
The donation, consisting of 74 bales of mixed items including Soft Baby Diapers and Pure Days Sanitary Pads, marks the Panamex Group’s first contribution to the Pink October initiative in the Solomon Islands.
The support forms part of the company’s community obligations for 2025, aimed at giving back to local communities.
Brian Sonason, Business Development Manager for George Wu Company, expressed his appreciation for being part of the foundation’s work.
“We are pleased to be part of the Pink October Cancer Foundation’s efforts and would like to thank Panamex Group for their continued support, as well as the tireless effort the NRH staff put into this important cause,” he said.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the hospital, Barbara Pwaisiho, Senior Health Promotion Officer at the National Referral Hospital, extended her heartfelt thanks.
“We really appreciate and pass on our thankful heart and gratitude for the kind donation you have given us. These items are very much needed in this hospital,” she said.
Ms. Pwaisiho also confirmed that the donated goods will be distributed to children and mothers in the gynaecological ward, post-natal, and labour wards.
“On behalf of the National Referral Hospital, staff, and patients – thank you very much,” she added.
The donation highlights the vital partnership between the private sector and health institutions in supporting the well-being of Solomon Islanders, especially women and children affected by cancer.
