The Guadalcanal Football Association (GFA) has announced the start of registration for the anticipated U14 Development Tournament, set to kick off on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
In a statement GFA said, this tournament aims to foster young talent within the GFA jurisdictions and promote inclusivity in youth football.
To ensure broad participation, there is no registration fee, making it easier for schools, clubs, and Iumi Plei Centres to get involved.
Interested teams are encouraged to confirm their participation by the deadline of Friday, April 25, 2025.
Each participating center, school, or club is required to register two teams: one boys’ team and one girls’ team.
Each team must consist of 14 players, along with three officials to support the young athletes throughout the tournament.
Eligibility for the tournament is strictly defined, with players born after January 1, 2012, being the only participants allowed.
This policy underscores the GFA’s commitment to fair play and the development of youth football. Overaged players will not be permitted on any team, and coordinators and coaches are required to provide accurate date of birth information for all team members when submitting their registration forms.
The venue for this year’s tournament is yet to be confirmed, but further details will be disclosed in the coming weeks, according to the GFA statement.
The GFA is dedicated to creating a competitive and enjoyable atmosphere for all participants, allowing young athletes the chance to showcase their skills and gain valuable experience.
For any inquiries regarding the tournament or registration process, teams are encouraged to reach out directly to the GFA’s organizing committee.
Don’t miss this chance to be part of an exciting development initiative that aims to inspire the next generation of Guadalcanal football stars.
