GOALKEEPING courses for Provincial Football Associations (PFAs) are scheduled to roll out after the month of June.
This was confirmed to Star Sports by the newly appointed Goal Keeping Development Officer, Philip Mango, Tuesday.
Mango said once the Covid-19 situation is cleared, his team will start travelling to the provinces to organize goalkeeping workshops for the PFAs.
“Our program for the PFAs is scheduled for after the month of June.
“We will visit and organize goalkeeping workshops for both players and goalkeeping coaches,” he said.
The program will involve mainly goalkeeping basics for a start and will continue a level up in future programs.
For Mango, running goalkeeping programs for the PFAs excites him as he aims to involve and engage more upcoming goalkeepers as well as goalkeeping coaches.
“I’m looking forward to helping the PFAs by introducing the basics of goalkeeping for interested young players and those that are interested in taking up goalkeeping coaching.
“There are many kids who love to take up goalkeeping but lack the basics.
“So we aim to help these kids and others who are interested in taking up goalkeeper coaching.
“Our focus is to help develop as many young upcoming goalkeepers and coaches from these programs,” he added.
At the moment, Mango is currently engaged in helping the Solomon Athletes Leadership Training (SALT) Ministry with its programs which also involves introducing futsal to communities.
