THE Democratic Coalition Government for Advancement (DCGA) will limit the number of Political Appointees (PA).
And those appointed are expected to sign their contracts next week.
That’s according to the Special Secretary to the Prime Minister (SSPM) Albert Kabui.
He confirmed yesterday that the Government has already met over the appointments of PAs this week.
Kabui further added that only the government have the final say on who will be appointed for various PAs posts within the government.
“The government will try as much as possible to limit the number of PAs post unlike in the previous government.
“At the moment the government will only appoint PAs for position within the Private PM’s Office, Caucus, Cabinet Sub-committees and Policy Implementation, Monitoring & Evaluation Unit (PIMEU),” Kabui said.
He further confirmed that DCGA is very serious in driving government policies and so the recruitment of the new PAs will be based on merit and experience.
“The government wants see people with right qualification and experience who can professionally carry out their tasks according to DCGA policies,” Kabui added.
Meanwhile, a government insider said appointment of Pas is being done according to the numerical strengthen of their parties in the DCGA coalition.
“Meaning the smaller your party the less PAs you have,” the insider said.
However, Kabui said all the appointments will be based on merit, qualifications and experience.
