Local tourism company, Solomon Host will now be able to deliver quality tourism training following a timely support from the government recently.
This was through the provision of essential equipment to its office.
In expressing her appreciation Solomon Host’s owner, Joyce Konofilia commended the government for the support.
“These equipment have played a crucial part in our provision of training, we used them to produce training materials and certificates,” said Ms Konofilia.
Ms Konofilia said with the equipment Solomon Host will be able to facilitate much needed trainings to tourism entrepreneurs.
“Solomon Host is grateful for government’s assistance because it’s not only helpful in our trainings but it comes at the right time when Solomon Host is setting it’s vision to boost our local tourism services to international standard,” Ms. Konofilia highlighted.
The Solomon Host entrepreneur said such assistance is encouraging for a training- oriented company like Solomon Host.
“It shows government is committed to elevate the general status of our local tourism services.”
The firm said it is committed to work together with government to ensure tourism trainings’ is made available to the wider sector.
Director of culture and tourism in the tourism ministry, Barney Sivoro said government stands ready to support Solomon Host to become efficient and self- reliant.
He said government recognizes Solomon Host as the only tourism training company in the country.
Late last month during a closing program for tourism operators permanent secretary of tourism ministry John Wasi said government applauded Solomon Host for endeavoring in tourism trainings.
Wasi also echoed that government will continue to support training initiatives offered by the company.
