Government through the ministry of provincial government and institutional strengthening (MPGIS) will deal with the current political turmoil affecting the Renbel provincial government (RPG).
In an interview yesterday minister Silas Tausiga said his ministry is aware of current political turmoil.
The impasse has resulted in three provincial ministers resigning from the Lence Tango led government.
Minister Tausinga said his office is yet to receive their resignation letter.
“Any resignation by ministers should first be submitted to minister responsible then the provincial clerk.”
Because there was no formal letter of resignation reaching his office, he does not know the reason for their resignation, the minister said.
Minister Tausinga said he will act on the matter once the letters received his office.
“The matter is very serious and the provincial government would deal with the matter as soon as the resignation letters reached my office,” he said.
The minister said there are two options, one is to elect a new premier while the final option would be to dissolve the current government because of the seriousness of the issue.
