A ground breaking ceremony of the Gold Ridge Mine Processing Plant Expansion Project is being held this morning on Central Guadalcanal.
The ceremony described as a milestone event marks the launch of a major development that will increase the processing capacity of the Mine from 10 Mtpa 13.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa).
The ceremony not only signifies the beginning of a new chapter for the project but also reaffirms our commitment to building a high-quality, environmentally responsible mining operation.
Over the past eight years, the success and steady growth of the Gold Ridge Mine Project has been made possible through the unwavering support of the Solomon Islands Government, the landowning communities, and partners both local and international, it was highlighted.
Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele and members of his Cabinet, Gold Ridge Mine officials, landowners, staff and invited guests witnessed the ceremony.
