Guadalcanal Province has topped the number of successful recipients that are benefiting under the Cocoa and Coconut Revolving Fund (CCRF) valued at $2.3million
The names of the successful recipients were released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAL) this week.
Out of the 57 successful applications, Guadalcanal Province has 13 recipients of which ten are cocoa buyers and two copra buyers. One recipient is a transport service provider.
Makira province has ten recipients – 7 cocoa buys and 2 copra buyers. One is a transport provider.
Western Province has 10 copra buyers benefiting. No cocoa buyer.
Next is Malaita province with 9 recipients of which 5 are cocoa buyers and 4 copra buyers.
For Honiara city four of the recipients are exporters – 3 for cocoa and one for copra.
Three copra buyers in Central Islands Province are fortunate to be in the first recipients’ list.
For Isabel and Choiseul provinces they have three copra buyers each being listed.
For Temotu only two cocoa buyers are lucky in the first batch.
Of the total, 30 recipients under cocoa while 25 recipients are copra buyers and exporters.
Two recipients are for transport services – boat & OBM for loading.
MAL announced on Tuesday that the successful 57 applicants have satisfactorily met all requirements and will receive the support.
The initial 57 recipients are the first batch to be followed by another batch once funds are available.
Most of the 57 recipients will share the $2,261,000.00 in a form of a soft loan.
The successful recipients have been urged to listen out as to when their grant agreements will be ready for signing before funds can be disbursed.
Because its a loan, they are expected to repay later.
