SAILORS on board the New Zealand Offshore Patrol vessel HMNZS Wellington are currently undergoing renovation work in a number of health centres and the Multipurpose Hall this week.
The vessel which arrived early this week is part of a Goodwill visit organised by the New Zealand government.
As of yesterday until tomorrow groups of sailors have been engaged in a number work as part of supporting a number of civic activities across Honiara coordinated via New Zealand Aid Programme-funded support to Honiara City Council (the Honiara Economic Development Support Programme; or HEDSUP).
These activities include painting and basic repairs at the HCC Multipurpose Hall and Rove Health Clinic yesterday. Today they will help renovate Mataniko Clinic and tomorrow at Mbonavera health clinic.
Yesterday members of the public also got the opportunity to visit the vessel at the main Ports wharf.
