Honiara High School is the Solomon Islands Secondary School Games (SISSG) Rugby 7s Men’s champions.
This was after their unbeaten run in the competition until the finals where they triumphed over the debutants Aligegeo PSS with a score line of 26-7 in the grand final.
The score line showed Honiara high school’s dominance in the competition thrashing their opponents after full time to walk away with the ultimate glory.
Honiara High School men’s Rugby 7s head coach Mr. Wayne Iroga after their victory expressed his pride in the team’s achievement, stating their victory will be a cherished memory for the players in the years to come.
“Indeed, I am very proud to witness the boys earn the rugby 7s title. From my observation, they have performed above and beyond our expectations.
“I also take this time to praise the players for their exceptional performances, efforts and strength displayed throughout the tournament until we reach this far.
“As coach I am happy for the team as it is their chance to continue demonstrating their abilities in the sport,” Iroga said.
Meanwhile, Aligegeo PSS despite the grand final defeat to the champions settle on the second spot securing silver medal while White River school settled for the bronze medal after thrashing Norman Palmer 31-0 in the bronze medal playoff.
