A one-day live music concert is set to rock Honiara marking the country’s 47th Independence Anniversary celebration on Monday, 7 July.
The one-day music concert will feature some of the country’s top bands, artists, string bands, and gospel bands.
The concert is a free-to-watch event to be hosted at the SINU Park Village stage, currently being used to host the 2025 National Trade Fair.
Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele officially opened the trade fair on Wednesday. The event will run until next Thursday.
The concert features different types of musical genres, ranging from Island beats, country, reggae, gospel, and cultural performances.
Chair of the Entertainment Sub-Committee, Mr Benedict Horuna, said the concert will start before lunch on Monday, 7 July, and continues throughout the day.
“The concert is hosted by the Government through the Organising Committee to give back to the community, especially Honiara residents, to celebrate and enjoy this year’s 47th Independence Anniversary through music and dance,” Horuna said.
Entry to the music concert is free.
