A Pathology result on flesh remains found at Mataniko River, Vara Creek in Central Honiara are that not of a human, it was revealed.
A statement from the office of the commissioner of police said it had received the pathology results from the National Referral Hospital Pathology department on Monday in relation to what many suspected were human remains found along the Mataniko River.
The report from the Pathologist confirmed that the remains were from an animal and not human as suggested in the media recently.
The report will form part of the police investigation mentioned in the media recently.
According to Pathology report, “the body parts are not of human origin. The physical appearance and radiological examinations confirm that they belong to a non-human creature”.
The report identified that an animal present in Solomon Islands that has 5 digits on it small fore limbs and 4 digits on its large hind limbs is a crocodile.
Based on the Pathologist’s report the police want to inform the public that police are therefore ruling out that the remains were human remains.
