The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) has confirmed that the country’s top-tier competition, the SIFF Super League (S-League), will kick off in June.
Over the weekend, SIFF announced that the number of participating teams for the 2026 season has been reduced to 10, down from the usual 12 in previous years.
The federation confirmed that Waneagu United FC and FC Juniper Tree will not take part this season after failing to pay their registration fees for the 2025 campaign.
“Following a comprehensive review of the 2025 season, the S-League Board has decided to reduce the number of participating teams from 12 to 10,” SIFF stated.
“Notably, FC Juniper Tree and Waneagu United FC will not feature in the 2026 season. According to the S-League Board, both clubs have been penalised for non-compliance due to the non-payment of registration fees for the 2025 season.”
SIFF added that the decision to remove the two clubs aligns with league regulations, ensuring all participating teams meet required financial and administrative standards. The remaining 10 clubs have been confirmed as fully compliant.
Meanwhile, with official league fixtures expected to be released in the coming weeks, the 10 confirmed clubs for the 2026 season are:
Central Coast FC
Malaita Kingz FC
Green Shield FC
Honiara City FC
KOSSA FC
Marist FC
SOSA FC
Southern United FC
Ghupo FC
Laugu United FC
