THE country’s High Commissioner to New Zealand, Joy Kere has applauded local workers recruited under the Regional Seasonal Employment (RSE) Scheme working in New Zealand at JR Orchards.
She also thanked JR Orchards as the employer and the New Zealand Government for providing the opportunity for Solomon Islanders to go and work under the RSE programme.
Fifty local workers have been recruited and have come to an end of their contract after six months.
Whilst thanking them for a good behaviour, Ms Kere said maintaining creditability and good reputation of Solomon Islands image is very important.
“A record set that is clean will give you the opportunity so that employers can reconsider recruiting you again next session,” she said.
She also encourages them to build good working relations with their employers, other workers and also people in the surrounding communities in the area where they work and live.
Ms Kere added it must also be made clear to understand the demand and the requirements that employers sought from you.
This is important to avoid misunderstanding that can occur, she said.
Employer, JR Van Vliet thanked the Solomon Islands workers for their commitment and hard work during the last six months.
He said high production is one of its outputs, urging the workers to take note of that demand and requirements needed from the employer’s perspective.
Mr Van Vliet applauds and acknowledges the local workers for their hard work and hopes to see them next season.
