Dear Editor – I noticed something unusual with our National Futsal Team Kurukuru’s uniform when playing world’s No1, Brazil.
My question is why Red?
Why do our boys wear red shirts?
Can SIFF or those who sponsor our boys explain why do they wear Red shirts?
Have Red been in our national colours?
Look at our flag and tell me where is red?
It reminds me of the 2012 Pacific games when our men’s National soccer team lost to New Caledonia 2-0 in the grand final when they wore red socks.
New Caledonia and Solomon Islands were pooled in the same group at that time.
During the pool match, we beat them 2-1 with James Naka scoring our superb second goal.
Now our Kurukuru did the same again.
Whatever our results will be, our national colours are our pride.
You don’t stand on the podium with a Red Flag on your shoulders.
All the Best Kurukuru as you Fly high in a couple of weeks.
