The Lauru Kuvojo team has boost up its preparations for the upcoming international friendly match, which will be held in Arawa, Bougainville on the 18th of September, 2025.
The team will represent Solomon Islands at this international event in Bougainville.
The Lauru Football Association (LFA) vice president, Lawrence Isa, said that the team is currently in Taro for their final preparations.
“The boys are in high spirits and the training camp has been intense,” Isa stated.
“We are focusing on fitness and tactical discipline, as we expect a very physical and challenging match against a strong Bougainville side. This international friendly is more than a game, it’s an opportunity to build football connections across the region.
“The invitation to participate in this event comes after kuvojo beats western Tomoko in the recent Solomon cup 2025, held in Honiara,” he said.
The traveled to Bougainville on Monday 15th September 2025 via outboard motor.
He added that seven players from Honiara, including John Irosanau, Sosimo Evo, Ramsi Melo, Peter Dehu, Enock Poloso and Kuvojos’ youngest player, Junior Doropita are already with the team in Taro.
He further revealed that Coach Tibon Oge would not be available to lead the team due to other commitments.
“In the absence of Oge, our local coaches, Cornelius Pitakaka and Holand Silekesa will lead the team to Arawa,” he said.
Isa also acknowledged the Solomon Island Football Federation (SIFF) for its commitment to making the travel arrangements possible.
The team will return to Taro on Saturday 20th September 2025.
