A LOCAL businesswoman says she’s surprised owner of a Honiara Fish Market has been telling people she’s a partner in the business.
Suzie Lam said she is not a shareholder or partner in the Fish Market.
The Fish Market buys fish from locals and resells them to the Honiara public.
In early 2013 owner of the firm, Australian Jason Evlo, claimed Ms Lam was his business partner.
But Ms Lam said:
“No, I’m not a partner with Mr Evlo.
“To use my name as his business partner is not true because I have nothing to do with the fish market.”
Mr Evlo said he made a friendly request to Ms Lam to be a shareholder in the business.
“I did that because she’s a local and knows the environment here than I do. We’ve been talking about this and that’s when I made the offer.
“I’ve given her time to consider the offer but she has not come back to me,” he said.
But Ms Lam said it’s not right for Mr Evlo to go around telling others that she was his business partner.
“It’s just not right for him to do that,” she said.
