Lauru Football Association (LFA) says it would challenge the decision by the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) Disciplinary Committee for penalising Makira which subsequently denied the team from earning a semi-final spot.
In a short statement late Wednesday, Lauru Football Association (LFA) said, a formal challenge will be issued by Thursday.
“Following the release of the final Group B standings of the 2025 Solomon Cup and the decision by the SIFF Disciplinary Committee in response to WFA’s complaint, the Lauru Football Association (LFA) wishes to inform all our supporters and stakeholders that we will be lodging a formal legal challenge to this outcome.
“Our camp remains calm and focused. The boys have already fought their battle on the field at Lawson Tama with courage and pride—now it is our responsibility to carry the next battle through the proper legal and administrative channels.
“We appreciate your continued prayers and support. An official update will be provided tomorrow morning (Thursday morning),” the statement said.
Western Tomoko lodged a complaint against Makira for fielding more than three players in a match.
Tomoko lost to Makira 4-1 during the match.
Makira is also unhappy with the decision blaming the organisers for not doing their job in checking the players.
