The Lauru Football Association (LFA) President is appealing for respect and unity amidst the current Solomon Cup saga.
The LFA President Mr Jeffery Sipele in a statement earlier said, the ongoing controversy surrounding the Solomon Cup has not only drawn the attention of football fans nationwide but has also sparked a wave of discussion and debate across social media platforms.
In response to the situation, the President Sipele has issued a heartfelt appeal to all Lauru Kuvojo supporters and the wider football community, urging calm, mutual respect, and responsible conduct during this emotionally charged time.
“Please, let us respect one another,” the President stated. “I kindly ask all our supporters and the public to refrain from using abusive language or swearing, whether online or in person.
“I condemn in the strongest terms the use of such words. This is football — and we must not allow emotions to drive us away from the game we all love.”
The message comes amid rising tensions following recent disciplinary matters that have affected the tournament’s standings and outcomes.
However, the LFA President emphasized that all matters have been formally submitted to the appropriate bodies for resolution.
“While disagreements may arise, there is always a proper process to resolve them,” he continued.
“We trust that those responsible will make their decisions fairly, and whatever the outcome, we ask everyone to respect and accept the final rulings.”
In a gesture of humility and sportsmanship, the President also extended a public apology to sister teams Western Tomoko and Makira Kakamora for any inappropriate language that may have been directed toward their players or supporters.
“To our neighbouring and sister squads, Western Tomoko and Makira Kakamora, please accept our sincere apologies for any offensive words or swearing that may have come from our side. We are deeply sorry for these actions,” he said.
The President concluded his message by reminding everyone of the deeper spirit of the game:
“At the end of the day, we are all part of one football family. Football is more than competition — it is a tool that unites us. Let us protect its integrity and honour its spirit.”
As the Solomon Cup continues to unfold, the Lauru Football Association calls on all supporters to remain peaceful, positive, and united through sport.
Meanwhile, at the moment it is up to the local organizing committee to settles the ongoing ongoing controversy surrounding the Solomon Cup before the semi-finals will kick off Saturday afternoon.
