With the country’s top-tier football competition, the S-League, set to resume with catch-up matches and kick off its second round on August 9th, Malaita Kingz FC has issued a call for all its players to return to club duties.
Currently sitting second on the S-League ladder, the Eddie Marahare-coached side still has two catch-up round-one fixtures against FC Juniper Tree and Marist FC.
Following the conclusion of the Solomon Cup last week, Kingz team manager Andrew Baenito released a statement urging all players who represented provincial teams as guest players to report back to training starting Tuesday, July 29th.
“For the records a good number of Malaita KINGZ FC players represented Makira, Malaita Eagles, Guadalcanal and Western provincial teams. Malaita KINGZ FC are vying for top spot after round one of the S-league 2025 season, hence called on all its elite players to immediately return to duties”, the statement reads.
Kingz have also signaled their ambition to claim a first-ever S-League title with the addition of former Rewa FC defender Leon Kofana for the second round.
More signings are expected to be confirmed in the coming days, with former Navua FC winger Jack Wale spotted at training and the club also expressing interest in Malaita Eagles goalkeeper David Sanga.
