MALAITA remains peaceful as it prepares to celebrate its second appointed day this Friday.
And provincial police commander Alfred Uiga said police are preparing to provide security for the celebrations.
“This is the event we are looking forward to this week,” MrUiga told the Solomon Star from Auki.
It’s understood the province will celebrate its big day this year at Malu’u substation in north Malaita.
MrUiga said the police will ensure the celebrations go peacefully without any disturbances.
The police chief urges people of the province to join their leaders mark the day peacefully.
