THE Malaita Provincial Assembly is set to meet on Monday 28th March 2022 which to pass the 2022 Provincial budget.
Premier Daniel Suidani confirmed this to Solomon Star Auki, as most of the MPAs have already made it to Auki for the budget meeting.
Unlike last year where most of the MPAs in the opposition boycotted the budget meeting after the failed motion of no confidence to remove the ruling MARA government, this year the meeting is expected to be attended by both the executive and non-executive MPAs.
By the look of things, the relationship between the MARA executive and the non-executive MPAs has improved as evident in the successful hosting of the Provincial Public Accounts Committee (PPAC) meeting which ended successfully last Friday in Auki.
This year things have changed for the betterment of the province as PPAC successfully concluded its hearing, paving way for the budget meeting to go ahead tomorrow.
The Malaita public has also noticed the improvement of the relationship between the executive and non-executive members, and are full of praise for the act of togetherness.
Some predicted that the meeting on Monday will be an emotional one for Malaita MPAs as they come face to face for the first time after a political shake up which caused differences between the MPAs.
A reconciliation is expected before the meeting starts to resolve differences between the two groups.
The budget this year is expected to be passed without any difficulties.
