MALAITA Province will elect its new premier, Friday.
Nomination opened on Thursday and closes at 2:30m pm today to be followed by the election at 3pm.
The Assembly has no time to waste because the 30 days given for a new assembly to form a new government lapses today as well.
Meanwhile the group led by Aoke Langalanga ward Malcolm Moli is leading the support of 23 members who are camping together.
But an insider hinted that the group is looking at putting someone from the Southern region to lead the province this term.
Peter channel was tipped but only at the close of nominations this afternoon will candidates be known.
