PEOPLE of Malaita are being challenged and encouraged to take care of the newly constructed bridges opened for travelling in West Kwara’ae.
World Bank funded the new bridges are Bio 1, Bio 2 and Koa which was handed over to the people by the National Government on Tuesday.
Malaita Province Deputy premier Randol Sifoni called on the communities to take care and ownership of those costly public asset.
‘I kindly appeal to you my belove fellow Malaita communities to care for these costly public assets. Take pride and ownership over it.
“Our development partner had noted our need and sincerely responded to resolve. This involves time through our cooperation and understanding of the mutual benefit to our communities,” Mr Sifoni said.
He further stated that engaging stakeholders with funding support, contractors resource owners, workers and community leaders to complete this project dose not happen over night.
“Engaging of all out stakeholder with funding support, construction workers, contractor, resource owners, community leaders, with capable skill, knowledge and experience through the support of our national government to complete this project dose not happen over night,” he added.
