THE Mamasa primary school at Vulolo Ward, Central Guadalcanal is expected to be relocated soon due to mining operation upstream.
The school is currently located close to the Wind-Wind Mining’s operation site.
Chief Education Officer (CEO) for Guadalcanal Province (GP) Mr Misack Suia last week said there is a plan for the school to be relocated to a new site.
He said his officers have spoken with the Wind-Wind Mining Company fortnight ago about relocation plan to allow the mining operation to go ahead and to avoid any disaster from affecting the school.
Mr Suia said both the province and the national Government will be supporting the relocation.
The CEO has informed people of Vulolo Ward and Japanese Embassy office about the relocation of the school at the handing over of a new two storey complex to Turarana community high school last week.
