A man has denied setting fire to his father in-law’s house in the Betikama area, of Central Guadalcanal in an incident that occurred in May 2025.
Benjamin Maefa pleaded not guilty to one count of arson when he appeared before Principal Magistrate Emily Zazariko Vagibule Pakoa on Friday.
Prosecution alleged Maefae was under the influence of liquor when he allegedly burnt his own house.
He then then set fire to the house made with bush materials owned by his father in law.
At that time, his father-in-law and family was at Belaha Village in Central Guadalcanal.
