POLICE in Auki have arrested an elderly man in connection with a domestic violence incident.
The alleged case occurred in late June at Kwa’adoe Village, West Kwara’ae, Malaita Province.
The assault, which took place on 26 June 2025, reportedly involved the suspect physically attacking his wife.
According to reports, the man allegedly kicked his wife and struck her in the head, causing her to lose consciousness.
Malaita Province Acting Police Commander, Michael Ramosaea, confirmed the arrest to this paper on Monday this week.
“Police responded to reports of domestic violence at Kwa’adoe and have since arrested a male suspect for causing bodily harm to his wife,” Commander Ramosaea said.
The suspect is currently in police custody as investigation gets underway.
Police have reiterated their zero-tolerance stance on domestic violence and urge communities to report such incidents immediately.
