Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele has pledged support for Solomon Kings FC and the “Kings Army” as the team prepares for key OFC Professional League matches in Honiara.
Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele has pledged his support for the “Kings Army” supporters’ movement as Solomon Kings FC prepares to host two crucial Round 4 matches of the OFC Professional League in Honiara.
Speaking at a dinner introducing the team to sponsors and government partners at the SIFF Futsal Hall on Friday night, the Prime Minister said he was looking forward to joining the passionate supporters’ group backing the club.
“I look forward to being part of the Kings Army myself,” he said.
Mr Manele also commended the team’s management, coaches and players for representing Solomon Islands at the professional level and urged the players to perform with courage, discipline and unity.

“When you step onto the field, remember that you represent a nation of proud people,” he said.
Solomon Kings will face Auckland FC on Saturday, March 14, followed by a match against South Melbourne FC on March 19.
The fixtures mark an important milestone for football in Solomon Islands as the country rallies behind its team in the regional competition.
