HONIARA City Mayor Alference Fatai has stepped in to assist a community in his ward in East Honiara by donating a grass cutter.
Mr Fatai said this assistance is for the community in Naha to make good use of it to help the Council by keeping their residences and areas clean.
“The Council’s 7 meter by law is for everyone to abide with and I urge my people to use the equipment for clean ups to support the Council’s effort in ensuring our surroundings is clean,” Mr Fatai said.
“I appeal everyone to cooperate with the Council to keep every residences or business house clean and safe so that we can promote a healthy environment which we can enjoy,” he added.
Community elder for Naha Roy Tambe when receiving the equipment thanked Mayor Fatai for his generous assistance towards the community.
“This will surely be useful to us for our community cleanup programs and I would like to thank Mayor Fatai for this assistance,” he said.
Mr Tambe added that they can now proceed with their cleanup programs to help keep their surroundings clean.
