A medical team from the National Referral Hospital (NRH) is currently providing medical assistance in Buala, Isabel province.
This was confirmed by Dr Kaeni Agiomea from Buala who is also part of the medical team.
In an interview yesterday, Dr. Agiomea said their current visit to Isabel is very timely and helpful as they help over a hundred patients who suffer medical complications.
He said, the team of four who is currently stationed in Buala are kept busy every day since Monday with the good number of patients turnout seeking medical assistance from the team.
According to Dr Agiomea the one week medical tour to Isabel is a success because it really helps people who lack financial assistance who are thinking of visiting Honiara for medical attention.
“With the visit, local people managed to access important medical services that they need in their provincial capital.”
He said such tour should be encouraged as it cut government’s spending compared to the amount of money the government would spend if all the sick people from the provinces move to Honiara and are admitted at the NRH.
